Welcome back to a new school year! I am so grateful to begin a new school year with my Wildcat family. I have been an educator for 22 years, serving as teacher, instructional coach, and STEM coordinator, and currently as LGM assistant principal. Current responsibilities include 504 coordinator, testing coordinator, collaborative planning facilitator, and sixth-grade administrator. I look forward to seeing all Wildcat students on campus this year. We are committed to creating a learning environment in which all students have the opportunities and access to achieve at high levels. Let’s have an amazing year!
“Intelligence plus character—that is the goal of true education.” Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.
As I begin my 20th year in education, eighteen of those years have been spent working with students and parents in Henry County. As an inaugural staff member of Locust Grove Middle School, I have served the families in our community since 2009 as a classroom teacher, teaching 7th and 8th grade Language Arts, before moving into the instructional coaching position for five years. This will be my 2nd year as an assistant principal at LGMS.
I will be working specifically with our 8th grade students this school year. I am truly honored to be part of the Locust Grove family and look forward to continuing my work with Mrs. Thomas, and the rest of our staff, to advance the achievement of all students in our building. Working together, I am confident that we will continue to provide our students with a truly challenging and enriching school experience to meet our Continuous School Improvement Plan goals that are embedded within the Henry County’s Strategic Priorities and Core Beliefs.
The middle school years are important and critical times for students. What happens during these years will have a lasting impression on their growth and development. I am confident that our school will continue to be a place where our students can learn and grow academically and socially.
I am very much looking forward to working with and supporting the families of Locust Grove Middle School this school year.
