Assistant Principals
6th Grade
Welcome to the 25-26 School Year!
My name is Jacob Bishop, and I am excited for the opportunity of being an Assistant Principal at Locust Grove Middle School. I grew up in Stockbridge and attended Stockbridge High School for most of my high school career. After high school I joined the military, where I served in the US Navy for 5 years. I was able to see the world and experience many different cultures while working with a diverse group of people from all over the US.
After the Navy, I attended Kennesaw State University and obtained a Bachelors in Computational and Applied Mathematics, with a minor in Coaching. I also have a Masters in Teaching from Middle Georgia State University, and have recently finished my Tier 1 Educational Leadership certification from Georgia Southern University. My teaching career started in Butts County at Henderson Middle School. During my time at Henderson Middle School, I taught 6th grade Math and Science, and 8th grade Math. Outside of the classroom I was the boys’ Head Basketball Coach for 5 years, and the Boys’ Soccer Coach for one year. I was nominated as the school's Teacher of the Year in 2024.
After growing up in Henry County, I am proud to have the opportunity to serve my community and help pave the way for success at Locust Grove Middle School. GO WILDCATS!

7th Grade
Greetings Wildcats,
I am delighted to introduce myself as the newly appointed 7th grade assistant principal of Locust Grove Middle School. With a strong foundation in instructional leadership and a passion for student-centered learning, I bring over a decade of diverse experiences in education. During my early years, it was evident that developing a deep commitment to fostering strong relationships with families and the community members would positively affect students’ achievement.
Various leadership roles including instructional coach, math department chair, and technology specialist have afforded me the opportunity to sharpen my leadership skills. Each of these positions provided a chance to support growth through facilitated professional development and elevated innovative equity-focused practices which resulted in successful learning outcomes. Grounded in the principles of collective leadership and continuous improvement, I am committed to fostering a collaborative school culture where every student and educator thrives.
I also look forward to partnering with you as we work side-by-side to continue providing students with high quality educational experiences that meet their individual learning needs. Together, we will support excellence in learning and leadership in this everchanging global world.
In Partnership,
Mr. Carr
